Overview and Purpose:

Every year, we host a lively event for adults (18+) where teams of three dress up compete for the title of Bozeman’s best spellers (and best dressers!). This dynamic and interactive event attracts spellers and observers of all skill levels. Whether you’re dressed up to play or just come to watch, it’s an event not to be missed.

Enjoy appetizers and a no-host bar for all participants and audience members.  Doors open at 6pm, spelling begins at 7pm.

Rules:

Qualifying Round 1- All spelling teams compete simultaneously in the first round. Teams of three are seated at tables working together to spell each word. Words vary in difficulty and so do point values. The teams with the highest accumulated points during the first round will advance to the finals.

The Final Round- This round will consist of 12 words. The team with the highest accumulated points will be the winner. In the event of a tie, a sudden death round will be held.

Passes for purchase:

Teams can purchase passes before and during the competition to help them get closer to the final round. These passes can be redeemed during the first spelling round only.
Bumble pass is $50: Use this pass when you miss a word but don’t want to miss out on the points! This pass saves you from your bumble and gets you right back on track. * limit two per team
Final Pass is $1000: Raise $1,000 and you can secure your team’s spot in the finals. But from there on, actual spelling skill is required to win!

Spectators:

Want to be a part of the event, but don’t want to spell? No problem, “bee” a spectator to cheer or heckle the teams for just $25. Tickets available for purchase at the door.

Note that this is an adult-only event, so please, no one under the age of 18.
